Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos is in Israel and has met with President Isaac Herzog and Minister of Communications Yoaz Hendel at the president’s home in Jerusalem. Sarandos is hoping to convince Hendel not to transfer forward with laws requiring intercontinental streaming products and services like Netflix to deliver first product in Israel.

Sarandos heard what Israel is preparing on the challenge and he stated that legislation could harm Netflix’s ideas to increase financial commitment in Israel. Netflix is involved about the precedent and Sarandos sought to describe how the business is by now cooperating with regional market in obtaining written content and why legislation could outcome in decreased expenditure.

The prepared legislation follows the conclusions of the Folkman Committee that it produces unfair opposition for Israeli Television set providers that are needed to commit in first productions, while the worldwide streaming giants are not.
