El Al Israel Airways Ltd. (TASE:ELAL) CEO Dina Ben-Tal Ganancia has instructed the Google tourism conference in Tel Aviv that the carrier strategies to start direct flights to Melbourne, Tokyo and Japan. All 3 new routes had been declared in 2019 prior to the outbreak of the Covid pandemic and then canceled when international journey was disrupted.

Assuming that El Al is granted permission to fly around Saudi airspace, flights from Tel Aviv to Melbourne in Australia will consider 15 several hours, equivalent to the distance in between Tel Aviv and Los Angeles, an additional route on which El Al is the only provider, Ben-Tal Ganacia reported. El Al will also be the only carrier functioning on the routes between Tel Aviv and Tokyo and Tel Aviv and Dublin.

Ben-Tal Ganacia also instructed the conference that in five years, El Al expects that 80% of ticket gross sales will be by electronic channels. At existing 35% of tickets are bought by way of the Internet and app and jointly with electronic bookings by vacation agents this climbs to 50%.
